Election Day

on November 4, 2008

Like every Tuesday, after morning homeschool, I was on my way to drop the boys off at Patty’s for the rest of the afternoon. And also like most Tuesdays, Elliot asked on the way there what I was going to do today. So I told him the first thing I was going to do was vote. I explained to him that I would be voting for a new president of our country and that we wouldn’t have the same stupid president we’ve had for the past 8 years. His response was an exasperated tone of, “Oh my gosh! I’ve been waiting for this day for so long!”

I had to laugh, because, really? I mean, really?

Then he told me he thought kids should pick the president even though he didn’t know that much about all that.

Maybe they should.
